We thought we would create a brief survey form that will be emailed out to all those who participated but it would be great if we could get started a little early now that we’ve all had a little more sleep
It will probably contain questions much like those below that we would really like your feedback on. If you are in the mood to comment now on your experience that would be great or wait for the survey that should be out sometime tomorrow.
Either way, a big thanks to all who attended and worked hard to create what will become a very real presence on the web - LobbyThem.com.
Things we would like to hear from you about include:
What did you like most about SW1?
What did you like least about SW1?
Do you want to come to SW2:
If it runs similarly to SW1
Would like something a little different
What do you think is most important now after being part of this:
Go for it to create a real business with a good chance of success
Have fun and create something interesting - don’t really care about the business end
Would like to work on a community project that might help others
Any other suggestions for shaping SW2?
Toronto Startup Weekend would like to specially thank:
Have a look at what a bunch of motivated and dedicated people have accomplished in one weekend. A big thank you, once again, to everyone that was involved in making this happen.
The hypnotic hum of servers is interrupted by the the melody of Nick’s fingers dancing on the keyboard. The URL is typed in and with the stroke of the Enter key the room goes silent. Eyes fixed on the title on the little tab… “Loading” hangs there for what seems like an eternity, we’re holding our breaths and only realize it when the home page of the site loads. An audible sigh of relief echoes through the tiny room. The home page comes to life. We run our tests and the site hums along, responding correctly to all our demands. We look around in silence once again…
“We’re Live!”
Well, almost… We’re in beta… Almost…
The site is up and running, but the DNS needs a bit of time to catch up. So go and check it out, with any luck it will catch up by noon. LobbyThem.com
Oh, our FaceBook is up in limited release as well, not quite ready for the public yet, but it will be very soon.
The weekend has been a tremendous learning experience for all of us. We’ve met great people, made friends, built a product, and finally… launched it
Stay tuned for more as we post details on what we did well, what we think we did wrong, and the many lessons we’ve learned during this great weekend.
The team is feeling the end is in sight yet there’s plenty to do. The development team reports that phase 2 is 3 hours away. Our facebook app still being hacked away at with the friend notification function and the creative outstanding.
The pressure’s on down in this warehouse on Eastern Ave. Things are moving along more or less on schedule. Around 30 people are working away from the 60 that started out. A few were raving hacking all night here. The fridge is still full of beer. The party has yet to begin. Let’s ask one member if we’re going to get it done? Select video below.
In the interim, we would like to thank the Bryan Texas startup weekend guys for their simple clean and creative vision of their splash page. We have used it as our inspiration in the absence of our creative person. He is here now and we are pushing to change this.
Many thanks to Bryan Texas for helping us from afar, we’ll be sending you a t-shirt
